Quinta dos Termos

Collection: Quinta dos Termos

In the dramatic landscapes of central Portugal’s Beira Interior region — where vineyards stretch toward the foothills of Serra da Estrela, the country’s highest mountain — lies Quinta dos Termos, a quintessential family winery with deep local roots.

Though modest in size compared to larger estates, this winery stands out for its authentic expression of mountainous terroir, organic vineyard management and commitment to Portugal’s viticultural heritage.

Originally planted in parcels that date back decades, Quinta dos Termos’ vineyards thrive on granite soils at altitudes of around 500–750 meters, a microclimate that yields wines with bright acidity, intense aromas and ripe fruit character.

Over time, a dedicated family team expanded their holdings and refined winemaking practices — an approach that balances traditional techniques with careful, modern vinification.

Today the estate works with a broad spectrum of grape varieties — from indigenous Portuguese classics such as Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Rufete, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Fonte Cal to international varietals like Syrah and Riesling — allowing the winery to craft a diversified lineup of whites, reds and DOC Beira Interior-classified wines.

Their vineyards are managed under Integrated Crop Management, demonstrating a long-term commitment to soil health and sustainability.

Quinta dos Termos’ portfolio reflects both the rugged elegance of Beira Interior and the family’s respect for the land itself: expressive aromatics, refined structure, and wines that speak strongly of their high-altitude origins.

Whether offering approachable everyday selections or more complex bottles, this producer brings the distinctive character of central Portugal’s terroir to life.
