This pasta is almost identical to the paccheri rigati, with the difference that the surface is not ribbed but smooth.

The paccheri is a large, tubular pasta from the Campania region of Italy.

The name is derived from the Neapolitan word 'paccharia', meaning 'slaps', which may refer to the sound of the pasta being slapped when eaten. Paccheri pasta can also be made stuffed.

Paccheri is ideal for dishes where the pasta needs to hold robust, chunky sauces. The large diameter tubes provide ample room for rich, hearty sauces, ensuring succulent, tasty bites full of sauce.

Often paired with casseroles, seafood-based sauces and thick vegetable sauces, paccheri is also perfect for baked pasta dishes. Its size and shape allow it to hold and retain layers of sauce, cheese and other ingredients.

Pastificio Fiorillo's paccheri pasta is made from 100% Italian durum flour with a bronze mould and undergoes a slow drying process to preserve its flavour, nutritional content and health benefits, making it ideal for use with any sauce.
