The product is produced by Terre dei Trulli, a family business founded in 1986 by the Casulli family, known for its high-quality durum wheat pasta and other regional specialties. All their products are made with a passion for local cuisine, rooted in centuries-old Puglia craftsmanship.
Like the classic strozzapreti, this lemon version has the same twisted, twisted shape – an elongated “priest choke” whose open surface and grooves hold sauces beautifully.
Here, however, the dough is flavored with lemon juice and a delicate, natural lemon flavor, as well as colored with a little turmeric.
The result is a vibrant, citrus-flavored pasta that is fresh, cheerful, and very Mediterranean.
Like the best pasta, it is made in a bronze mold and, thanks to the slow drying process, it is excellent for cooking.
Lemon strozzapreti is perfect with light, summery dressings: try it drizzled with a little extra virgin olive oil, a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of fresh herbs (basil or parsley), or pair it with a delicious seafood sauce, fish sauces, grilled shrimp, or even a creamy zucchini and pea vegetable stew.
