The carob biscuits (bolachas de alfarroba) from the small Portuguese producer Campos Santos contain one of the most characteristic ingredients of the Algarve region.

Traditionally grown in Southern Portugal, carob is particularly valued for its naturally sweet, slightly roasted flavour and has long played an important role in the region's confectionery.

These biscuits are made according to local recipes, have a balanced texture and a slightly cocoa-like taste, which comes entirely from the carob. They are not overly sweet and offer a unique alternative to chocolate-based biscuits, reflecting the agricultural traditions of the Algarve.

The biscuits are offered in a special gift box reminiscent of traditional Algarve houses, making them attractive not only for their taste but also for their appearance. This careful packaging makes them an ideal gift, as they combine traditional flavours with traditional packaging, forming a regional speciality.

They can be enjoyed with a fine espresso or tea, with fresh cheese, or simply as an afternoon snack.
