Origens
Origens olive oil dates back to the beginning of the origins of the Branco family in the production of high quality traditional olive oil since 1945.
In 1962 Antonio Maria Branco built the largest olive oil mill in the Trás-os-Montes region (Portugal) with the best technology at the time.
In 1993, his daughter, Filomena Branco inherited the olive mill and also some land, and started planting more olive trees. Today the area of the Origens orchard is 60 hectares.
Nowadays, Lagar Sr. Branco presents itself on the market as the best traditional mill for olive oil extraction in the Iberian Peninsula. In the year 2000 Filomena Branco launched her Origens organic olive oil brand. The olive oil is made from her father's olive groves and his plantations in the '90s, extracted in Lagar Sr. Branco, the old-fashioned way.
