Tremoceira

Tremoceira was born in 1966 by António Bastos and his wife, Catarina Bastos, as a chain of small shops dedicated to selling seeds, agricultural products, food, nuts, snacks, olives and lupins.

The founders' incessant search for distinct and select flavours later led them to create a small factory dedicated to roasting peanuts, seeds, cashews, pistachios and processing table olives and lupins.

In the beginning, the production unit only worked for the "A Tremoceira" chain of shops in the areas South of Lisbon like Cova da Piedade and Feijó, but over the years it has distinguished itself from the competitive market by the quality and prestige with which it has presented its customers.

"Throughout our journey, we have constantly evolved, innovated technologically and searched for new products, keeping up with new trends in the national and international markets, certain that they will be better appreciated by increasingly demanding consumers," says Dina Bastos, export director.

"Our company's success is due to the fact that it remains true to its origins. We are a family-run brand - today our children are at the helm, and they have always defended exporting as the way forward.

We produce with quality, above all else, and we always try to give our best so that our customers out there feel supported. We have assets such as experience and know-how, we know our business like few others, and that's an advantage over the competition," explains Catarina Bastos, the company's founding partner.

This set of skills has given Tremoceira Estrela da Piedade - which currently has a team of around 20 employees - a degree of confidence that has allowed it to distinguish itself from other companies in the same sector for as long as it has been in business.

Tremoceira's main objective is to guarantee quality: producing and supplying 100% QUALITY to the customer by specifying raw materials; packaging material; ingredients and additives and periodically evaluating and selecting suppliers in order to ensure their quality and food safety.
