Behind the brand are a young couple, Steffi and Nils, who
lived in Berlin with stable careers and a predictable future. Everything was there – except for the feeling that something was missing. During a stay in Portugal, however, they realized what it was: the lightness of life, the closeness to nature… and surprisingly, a high-quality, exciting, non-alcoholic drink.


In 2018, they turned their backs on their life in Germany and moved to Portugal to create the country's first organic craft soda brand. They didn't want just another soft drink, but a beverage that you would gladly choose when you're not looking for alcohol – but you don't want to compromise on taste either.

And that's exactly how Why Not Soda was born.

Not your usual soft drink

If you've mainly thought of sugary, one-dimensional flavors when it comes to soft drinks, it's worth pausing for a moment here.

Why Not Soda drinksare made from organic ingredients, with real fruits and plant extracts. The flavors are not loud, but balanced, often surprising – they are more reminiscent of a well-crafted beverage than a classic carbonated soft drink.

The first customers came from personal connections, and the first successes from perseverance. This kind of organic growth still defines the brand's character today: direct, human, and very honest.
