This special chorizo is made by Fumeiro da Vila, a small family business located in the heart of Alentejo region, Portugal, in the village of Ervedal.
Alto Alentejo is marked by a peaceful and serene landscape, with many hectares of land dedicated to agriculture, such as cereal cultivation, vineyards, olive groves and Alentejo cork oak forests for raising the famous Alentejo black pig.
Traditional sausages and other meat products resulting from the animals cared with attention in the fields, are associated with the ancestral culture of transformation of a local, high quality product: the black pig.
This Alentejo chorizo is made with carefully selected meat from the black pig, it's seasoned with garlic and pepper paste, it's soft and tasty.
The alentejo sausages are cured in a traditional holm oak wood smokehouse.
