What is Flor de Sal?
Flor de Sal is a delicate layer of salt crystals that forms on the surface of water in salt pans. It is hand-harvested daily using a special tool that never touches the bottom of the pans, preserving its bright white color.
The salt is then allowed to drain and dry in the sun and wind in small quantities before being packaged and stored.
Flor de Sal Campos Santos is quality-certified by SATIVA and the French certifier Nature & Progrés. Produced using ancient, completely natural, and artisanal methods, it is neither processed nor washed.
The Castro Marim salt pans have accumulated mineral salts over thousands of years, giving this salt its unique quality. There are more than 80 minerals and trace elements in these exquisite sal flowers.
