Taralli (and the smaller versions: tarallini) are traditional Italian snack items shaped like toroids, commonly found in the southern part of Italy, especially Puglia.

These treats boast a satisfying crunchiness and crispiness, crafted from a blend of white wine, flour, and olive oil. They are commonly flavoured with herbs and spices, making them a perfect accompaniment for an Italian aperitivo!

They serve as the IDEAL complement to your aperol spritz (or beverage of choice). With their petite size, crunchy texture, and irresistible appeal, exercising self-control around them becomes a necessity.

They have a texture reminiscent of grissini breadsticks and come in both sweet and savory varieties. Sweet taralli are occasionally coated with sugar, while savory ones can feature flavors like onion, garlic, tomato, rosemary, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, fennel, pepper, chili, or simply salt. They are often enjoyed dipped in wine.

Taralli are crafted into rings or ovals measuring approximately 10 to 12 cm in circumference, while smaller versions known as tarallini, ranging from 3 to 7 cm.

These tarallini from Terre dei Trulli are the authentic ones of the Apulian tradition. They are produced following the original recipe, handed down from generation to generation, which involves the use of a few simple ingredients: flour, water and oil. They select only Italian and Apulian ingredients, rigorously free of artificial colors and preservatives.

Given their low caloric value and their simplicity, Apulian tarallini are a truly versatile food. They can be used to accompany first courses and soups, but they find their ideal role as an aperitif, as an accompaniment to a drink and olives, cured meats and pickles.
Being a very healthy snack, they are also suitable for the little ones: in fact, they are often chosen as a snack to take to school.

Tomato and basil create a very tasty combination, widely used in typical Apulian cuisine.
