Marsala is one of Sicily's classic wines, a history that has been intertwined with the western part of the island for centuries. It is a fortified wine that is not only enjoyed by the glass: it is also an important ingredient in many traditional Italian dishes and desserts.
Polini Marsala Ambra Fine DOC represents a younger, easy-to-use style of amber-colored Marsala. The "Fine" designation denotes at least one year of aging, while the production of "Ambra" includes the use of mosto cotto, or cooked grape must. This also contributes to the wine's deep amber color, full, smooth character, and distinctive world of caramel and dried fruit.
Served by the glass, it pairs well with desserts, almond cookies, and other Sicilian pastries, but it is perhaps even more exciting in the kitchen. Marsala is a classic ingredient for zabaglione cream, can be used for tiramisu and cakes, but is also excellent in savory dishes: for mushroom sauces, chicken, veal, or to prepare classic scaloppine al Marsala.
The 1-liter bottle is particularly practical for those who want to not only drink it but also use it regularly for cooking and desserts.
