Small, delicate and delicately sweet – these lemon-glazed tarallini from the small-scale Puglia producer Terre dei Trulli embody the soul of Puglia.
Tarallini is a smaller, ring-shaped version of the traditional taralli. Crispy, light and temptingly delicious. In this sweet version, the classic dough (made from soft wheat flour, white wine, vegetable oil and fresh eggs) is coated with a glaze made from fine icing sugar and a bright lemon aroma. The citrus coating gives the dough a fragrant, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness that perfectly balances the rustic interior.
Produced by the Terre dei Trulli family business on the Masseria Vaccari estate in the Puglia region, tarallini carry an authentic heritage: the recipe reflects the traditions of generations, its roots go back to the memory of grandmother Mariangela, who regularly baked such pastries for her family and employees.
Lemon glazed tarallini are ideal as a light dessert, a delicious afternoon snack or with a cup of hot tea. They also work great crumbled on soft ricotta, yoghurt or a scoop of ice cream with their crunchy citrus flavour. Thanks to the generous 150 g packaging, they can also be an excellent guest present.
Enjoy it on its own, pair it with herbal tea, or even a slightly bitter espresso.
