The base of La Chinata's Condimento de AOVE Picante is 98.5% extra virgin olive oil, combined with flavorings that give the oil a mild heat and a slightly charred, smoky-grilled character.
This is not a brutally spicy chili oil; La Chinata itself describes it as ligero picante, meaning mildly spicy. It is intended more to add a little fire and extra character to a dish without overpowering all other flavors.
It is almost perfect for pizza, but it is also excellent on pasta, grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes, eggs, or finished meat dishes. With this too, it is worth bringing out the bottle at the end of serving: a few thin drizzles directly onto the finished dish.
The 300 ml squeezable bottle features a drip-free dispenser, making it easy to use exactly as much as you like.
Serving tip: freshly baked pizza + a few drops of picante. Or even simpler: toasted bread, tomato, and a little spicy oil.
