The Alto do Pocinho DOC Douro red wine comes from the historic Douro Superior region, an area that is part of the Douro wine region in northern Portugal. Produced by Quinta dos Termos winery, the vineyards are located at an altitude of 200 to 350 meters on steep terraces. The wine is made from traditional red grape varieties in the Douro region, such as Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, and Tinto Roriz.
This reserva wine is aged for approximately 10 months in French oak barrels, which allows for the integration of fruity character and structural elements. The wine has an intense red color with pronounced, ripe fruit aromas that stand out over the influence of the oak. On the palate, it is characterized by balanced acidity and a firm, structured profile with moderate tannins and a long finish, making it a representative example of Douro wines.
We recommend it with grilled or roasted red meats, rich stews, and casseroles, but it also pairs excellently with aged cheeses or traditional Portuguese dishes such as cozido or lamb.
