Ribeiro Santo Reserva is a classic red wine from the Dão wine region, one of Portugal's most renowned wine-growing areas, characterized by a cool, temperate climate, granite soil, and significant daily temperature fluctuations – a terroir that allows for the production of balanced, aromatic wines with a delicate structure.
The wine is produced by Magnum Wines, led by winemaker Carlos Lucas and his team. The project builds on the traditions of Dão vineyards, integrating careful selection of the vineyards with thoughtful winemaking.
This Reserva batch is made from Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Roriz grapes, which are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with controlled maceration to achieve perfect color and aromatic complexity. After primary fermentation, the wine ages for approximately nine months in French oak barrels, allowing the integration of structure and subtle spicy nuances without overpowering the fruity flavors.
In taste, it has an intense ruby-red color, complex black and purple fruit aromas, a hint of pine needles and subtle spices, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish with delicate tannins.
