Bodegas Yzaguirre

Collection: Bodegas Yzaguirre

Few drinks are as closely linked to the Spanish way of life as vermouth. In Catalonia, the so-called "hacer el vermut" – that is, gathering before lunch with family or friends for a glass of vermouth, some olives, and light tapas – is a tradition that remains very much alive today.

One of the best-known representatives of this more than century-old aperitif culture is Bodegas Yzaguirre, which has been producing its vermouths since 1884 with the same dedication and artisanal approach.

The winery was founded by Enrique Yzaguirrein the Catalan city of Reus, which was considered one of Europe's most important vermouth centers at the end of the 19th century. Today, the winery operates in the town of El Morell, near Tarragona, and remains family-owned, with the Salla-Solé family carrying on the founder's legacy. Although technology has advanced, the heart of the vermouths remains the same carefully guarded recipe, passed down from generation to generation.

The uniqueness of Yzaguirre's vermouths lies in the selected wine base and a secret blend of more than 80 different herbs, spices, and botanical extracts.

A harmonious combination of cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, coriander, nutmeg, gentian, and numerous other aromatic plants creates the rich yet balanced flavor profile for which Yzaguirre has become known worldwide. The recipes remain strictly guarded secrets to this day.

The winery has always strived for a balance between tradition and innovation. Alongside classic red and white vermouths, it was the first in Spain to introduce barrel-aged Reserva vermouths, and its premium items can now be found in many countries around the world.

Yzaguirre's products reach more than 40 countries, while still maintaining the artisanal approach that has defined the winery's work for over 140 years.

In addition to vermouths, Bodegas Yzaguirre also produces excellent sangrias, aromatic wines, and aperitifs. All their products share the use of carefully selected ingredients, a respect for traditional preparation methods, and the Mediterranean lifestyle that has made Catalan gastronomy world-renowned.

A glass of Yzaguirre vermouth or sangria is not just a drink, but a little piece of Spain – the atmosphere of sunshine, tapas, and unhurried conversations.
