The company was founded in 1966 by Ángel Costas and Floriano Miñán, who didn't simply start a business, but created a tradition that now spans three generations.

From the beginning, the focus was clear: exceptional quality seafood ingredients and careful, artisanal processing. The company's first workshop was established in Vilaxoán, and later moved to Cambados – a place considered one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world.

The special water conditions of the Ría de Arousa provide an ideal environment for fish and shellfish, ensuring the outstanding quality of ingredients sourced from here.

The name "Mariscadora" is no coincidence: in Galicia, this is how women who manually collect shellfish at low tide are called. The name is a tribute to local communities, tradition, and the sea – a philosophy that still defines the company's operations today.

Mariscadora remains a family business today, proudly preserving its identity. The knowledge and experience accumulated over more than 50 years have been passed down from generation to generation, while the artisanal approach has remained unchanged. During the production process, mechanization is minimal: the emphasis is on human hands, precision, and attention to detail.

The key to processing is freshness.
The fish and seafood are delivered to the processing plant within a short period, where they are carefully prepared according to traditional recipes.

The goal is not to "process" the ingredients, but to preserve their natural character – whether it's shellfish, tuna, or smaller fish.

The uniqueness of Mariscadora also lies in its simultaneous representation of tradition and subtle innovation. They continue classic recipes while also embracing new flavour combinations – this is how products are created where the pure taste of the sea meets creative yet harmonious additions.
